Terms of Service

The agreement between Salaf LLC and the businesses that use Shopdesk to run their stores and answer their customers.

Last updated: 29 September 2026

1. Who these terms bind

These terms are an agreement between Salaf LLC of 525 Randall Ave 401, Cheyenne, WY 82001, United States (we, us) and the business that opens an account on the platform (you, the merchant). They apply to you and to everyone you give access to your account.

They do not bind your customers, and a shopper who messages your Page or your shop is not agreeing to them. What happens to that shopper’s data is described in our Privacy Policy; what you owe them under your own shop’s terms is between you and them.

2. The service

Shopdesk provides software for running a retail business — products, orders, customers, inventory and sales channels — together with an omnichannel support inbox. The inbox relays messages between your customers and your staff: it receives messages sent to a Facebook Page you have connected, to the Instagram account linked to that Page, to a WhatsApp Business number you have connected, and through the chat widget on a store we host for you, and it sends your replies back over the same channel.

We host the software and the data it holds. We are not a party to your sales, we do not take payment from your customers, and we do not answer your messages for you.

3. Accounts and staff

You are responsible for the accounts you create, for keeping their credentials safe, and for what the people holding them do — including what your staff do with the conversation data those accounts can read. Give the support permission to the people who need it and remove it when they leave.

You must give us accurate account information and keep it current. We may refuse or close an account we believe is being used to impersonate someone else.

4. Connecting a Facebook Page

When you connect a Facebook Page to Shopdesk, you confirm that:

  • you are authorised by the business that owns the Page to connect it, and to receive and answer the messages sent to it;
  • you remain responsible for the conversations on that Page — we carry them, you conduct them;
  • you publish your own privacy policy covering what your business does with customer data, and you comply with Meta’s own platform policies for Pages and messaging.

You can disconnect a Page at any time. Doing so stops new messages from reaching your inbox; it does not by itself delete the conversations already there, which are covered by the retention rules in §9.

4A. Connecting WhatsApp

You can connect your own WhatsApp Business account to Shopdesk. You must be authorised by the business that owns the account and its number to connect them, and you remain responsible for how you use WhatsApp: you must follow WhatsApp’s Business Messaging Policy and Meta’s other terms for WhatsApp business accounts, including having a person’s opt-in permission before you contact them on WhatsApp. Everyone on your team with access to the support inbox can read the one-to-one chats on that number, including chats you start from your WhatsApp Business app, and §5 applies to everything Shopdesk receives from that number, those chats included.

Meta may charge for WhatsApp messages, including replies you send from Shopdesk. Those charges are billed by Meta directly to you; Shopdesk does not bill for them or track them, and they are not part of the fees in §8. Disconnecting WhatsApp works as disconnecting a Page does in §4.

5. Permitted use of messaging data

This section is the one with real teeth, and it exists because the platforms we relay messages from require it of us.

You may use the messages, images and contact details we deliver to you only to respond to and service the person who sent them — answering their question, fulfilling their order, resolving their complaint, and keeping the records of that interaction your own business genuinely needs.

You must not:

  • sell, rent or licence that data to anyone;
  • transfer it to a data broker, a list vendor or an ad network;
  • use it for advertising or ad targeting, including uploading it as a custom audience;
  • use it to build a profile of a person across other services, or combine it with data bought from a third party for that purpose;
  • export it into another system without a lawful basis for doing so and the protections that basis requires.

You must also:

  • honour a deletion request from a person you have messaged, and pass on to us any request that concerns data we hold — see the Data Deletion Instructions;
  • stop using messaging data from a channel once you disconnect it, except where you must keep a specific record by law;
  • keep the data confidential and limit access to staff who need it.

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section, and we may do so without notice where a breach is ongoing.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use the platform to send spam or unsolicited bulk messages, to harass anyone, to send unlawful, infringing or deceptive content, or to attempt to break, overload or probe the service. Do not use it to sell goods you are not permitted to sell. Do not attempt to reach another merchant’s data.

7. Availability and support

We work to keep the platform available and we will tell you about planned maintenance where we can. We do not, however, offer an uptime guarantee or a service-level commitment unless one is agreed with you separately and in writing.

Parts of the service depend on systems we do not control — Meta’s messaging platform in particular. When one of those is down or changes its rules, the affected feature can stop working through no act of ours.

8. Fees

Paid plans are billed according to the agreement you entered into when you subscribed, which sets the price, the billing period and what is included. Fees are payable in advance unless that agreement says otherwise, and unpaid fees may lead to suspension.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a breach of these terms, for non-payment, or where we are required to by law or by a platform we depend on.

Conversation data is subject to the retention rules in our privacy policy while your account is open — 180 days from the last message in a conversation, applied automatically — and they keep applying to the conversations on a closed account, so it does not become a way of holding that data indefinitely.

Export what you want to keep before you close the account. If you want your data exported or deleted at that point, write to support@shopdeskbd.com and we will handle it as a request — we may keep what we are required to keep by law.

10. Warranties and liability

The service is provided as is and as available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost sales, lost data or indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh, and the courts of Bangladesh have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without prejudice to any mandatory protection available to you where you are established.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. When we do, we replace this page and update the Last updated date at the top; where a change materially affects your rights we will tell account holders directly. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Questions about these terms go to support@shopdeskbd.com.
